ive always wanted to find a place where i could just drop off my car and have someone tell me whats wrong with it without feeling as if i was getting ripped off and this place is it. i found it through researching yelp reviews and then my friend (who is quite knowledgeable on cars) took his vw in and gave it glowing reviews so i knew i was in good shape. but i wasnt expecting to be quite blown away as i was.i called in to make an appointment for a 55k mile checkup and before doing anything, they had me fax in my prior maintenance records to make sure i even needed to bring my car in. who does that right? and it turns out all i needed was an oil change. so i make an appt and if you get there by 8:30am, there is a shuttle service that will drop you off wherever you need to go and pick you up once your car is ready. door to door service and the guy shuttling everyone around couldnt be any nicer. ed i think his name was.it was only an oil change but i swear my car has never driven better that im actually hopeful now that i can keep this car for years to come with advanced on my side. it drove so well in fact that i went right out and got it a car wash and its now sitting pretty in the garage. love these guys...i highly recommend them.

If you have a VW (which I do), there is no better place to go in San Francisco.

Great place, have taken 3 cars there for over 6 years. Quick service, quality work, and helpful staff. Continually go out of there way to make me happy and treat both my wife and myself like priorities and not idiots. As long as I drive german, they're my place. Thanks Aaron and Randy.

my boyfriend LOVES this place and i love them too. i went in the other day to drop him off to pick up his car and the guys were really really nice to us. they did the service very quickly ("not a rush, we don't ever rush! we just gave you priority") and for a great price. plus i'm totally indebted to them because they know all the good spots/people so when i needed a new mechanic they recommended me to sokol at euro motorcars who i adore.

They fixed the mystery problem with my car and were helpful, accommodating and friendly -- alllll qualities I look for when dropping half a mortgage payment on something that I'd rather not need.Bonus: One of the mechanics looks like Pacey from Dawson's Creek. But, like, hot. And for the record, I wasn't a Pacey fan (or a Dawson fan, for that matter), but there's something about Pacey + mechanic that = YES PLEASE.But blah blah blah...enough with the objectifying of men. This is a serious review, I swear.Five stars for giving me a warm, fuzzy feeling about driving my car for another six years.Minus one star for the patchouli incense they have going on in the waiting area. Seriously you guys...if I wanted my hair to smell like hippies I'd spend more time in the Haight.Plus one star for being so damn nice and explaining everything for me eighty seven times.Grand Total = 5 starsBottom line: GOD FORBID anything else happens to my car any time soon, but if it does, I'd definitely go back.

i called 2-3 tire places to have my two front tires replaced. since my VW is all wheel drive, they wouldn't touch my tires unless they replaced all 4.thing is, my rear two were fine.that's when i called advanced, and i was finally talking to someone who knew what they were talking about. they changed the tires at a reasonable price, and even cleared some error codes that had recently showed up.the shuttle service was also pretty darn key in the morning!

I was driving to my friend's place this morning (8am) when my car suddenly started idling very roughly at a stop light and the check engine started blinking at me. At this point, I'm thinking I'm screwed. My sis told me great things about Advanced and her experience w/ her VW, and I've already had bad experiences with the local stealership, so after some multitasking I gave them a call while still on the road.I told them my car suddenly started idling roughly and they told me to bring it in ASAP - that was the first good sign. I brought it in and met Randy, who already knew what was wrong with my car from our initial phone call - a 30 second conversation. So it was really comforting knowing that these guys are VERY competent and experienced. They turned my car around in under 3 hours and I've already picked it up. They even advised me on how to get a refund from Audi on their service they performed today. Very, very satisfied.

Would it be wrong to patronize a repair/service shop because they owners and guys who work there are hot? If so, I don't ever want to be right.But seriously, these guys seem to know their stuff, are straightforward, honest, (and yes, dammit, nice to look at).

I was so impressed with Advanced, I joined Yelp to write this review.Bought and 03 A4 about six months ago. It's still under warranty, but knowing what I know about Audi dealers, I would never let a dealership touch my car. Took it into Advanced for an oil change, some minor adjustments and a general check. I have to agree with the other reviews -- fair, honest, fast, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.The serviced the vehicle promptly and gave me a fair and honest assessment of the car. No repairs necessary. They could have hosed me on any litany of standard Audi problems, and 03 A4's are rife with them.Even though my car is still under warranty (and my power-train has a 100,000 mile warranty), I will go here instead of the dealership.Stay away from dealers, especially Royal -- that's a story for another post.

Advanced Audi is the best! Randy and the team at Advanced Audi have been taking great care of my 1997 A4 for several years now and I can't recommend them highly enough. I had been to other repair shops and it always seemed like I had to go back multiple times before everything was right. Advanced Audi performs every task right the first time, usually quicker and cheaper than they quote. My car has not had any problems since they have been taking care of it. It's kind of a bummer because they are so great to deal with, that this is the one shop where I wouldn't mind going back multiple times!
