These guys are awesome. everyone from the front desk, to the service guys, to the owner. Although they are out of the way, they will give you partial reimbursement for taxi fair and when my car was running late for pickup, they gave me an overnight car rental. They are also very thorough in listing out and explaining what repairs need to be done and what the costs are. Hats off to Advance Autowerks, they get it when "it" comes to customer service and earning repeat business. Now if I can convince them to open up an East Bay location. If you get a chance, ask them about the vintage Donkey Kong game in the back rest area, all the Donkey Kong you need in a full upright arcade game.CheersAR

Totally honest, courteous, fast. Went for a headlight, fixed it in no time. The guys all worked at dealerships so know their stuff without raping your wallet.

My husband takes is 1991 Audi to this place.I am not going to tell you that they are the cheapest place around because this is SF and I am not sure if that is possible. All I know is that when my husband would take his car to the official Audi repair place, he would return 30 lbs lighter because of the chunk that they had gouged out of his ass. That was graphic, sorry. The point is that he never walked out of the Audi place without paying $1000 + to them for something, only to return a few months later to plunk down some more change. The folks at Advanced are knowledgable, kind and truly passionate about what they do. They are the kind of people you want to get to know and bake a chicken for.I don't get crazy anxiety when my husband takes his car there. I know that they are only going to fix what is broken and nothing else. They are also really into his car, which makes both of us smile. Apparently, 91 was a good year for the Audi A4.I hate long reviews. Go to Advanced Autowerks!

I have been taking my 2008 GTI here for almost 3 years and the guys at Advanced Autowerks never disappoint. Let's face it.. Women typically get crap service when it comes to anything automobile related, but that's not the case at AA. They always answer my seemingly crazy questions and are ever so nice. On top of that, they provide excellent service for reasonable prices. One thing that really stood out from the beginning was their taxi service. Everyone knows how much of a hassle it can be to drop of your car for service. You need to have someone give you a ride to and from usually, or pay high cab fares just so you can get to where you need to go. Not at Advanced Autowerks. They give you a $20 Yellow Cab voucher and will even call Yellow Cab to come pick you up! This works great for when I drop my car off early in the morning and need to make it to my office in SOMA. Aside from the taxi service, they do complete checks when you bring your car in for an oil change. I had a broken tail light when I brought my car in last time and they fixed it for me! I had also asked Jason if there was a detail shop nearby that I could schedule to come pick up my car after the oil change and he apologetically told me that there wasn't. The next morning when I dropped my car off for service, he said that he would have someone wash the outside of my car for me since there wasn't a detail shop nearby. Again, EXCELLENT SERVICE! But if this isn't enough to make you want to speed right over to AA for your next service, I'll tell you one more story. It's 6:30pm on a Friday night. I picked up my car from AA at 5:30pm and was running a few last errands before driving down to LA that evening. I'm driving down 3rd Street, make a u-turn and when I do, my car starts to make the craziest, scariest noise. It sounded like worn out brake pads screeching against the rotors, but my brakes still had 75% life left to them. I drove about 2 blocks but the noise wouldn't stop so I pulled over. I called over to AA (they closed at 6pm), but miraculously someone answered the phone. In a frantic voice I tried to explain the noise and what I was doing when it happened. I told the guy on the phone where I was and he said to stay where I am, that he'd be right there. Less than 10 mins later Randy and another guy from AA pull up. He hops in my car and we start to drive. He makes a u-turn just as I did and bam! The noise stops! Turns out that a rock had bounced up and was lodged in my wheel somehow and was making that screeching noise. Randy laughed it off and all I wanted to do was give him a big hug and a high five since he just saved me and my planned road trip! **THANK YOU RANDY!!!!**It just goes to show you how awesome the guys at Advanced Autowerks are. I will be taking my GTI here for many years to come. Or if the Scirocco will hurry up and get here, I'll be taking it! :)

This was my first time taking my VW to Advanced Autowerks. I am very pleased! From the first phone call appointment, Zack knew the exact shade of green on my car when I told him the year. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable, trustworthy. Clear explanations without sounding arrogant or over my head. Normally I'm not too happy if I have to shell out $ for repairs but Zack was so helpful it really eased the "ouch" factor. The itemized receipt was very thorough and clear. They paid my roundtrip muni fare, offered coffee with organic half & half, used eco cups and washed my car!

Would give 6 stars if I could. Straightforward, courteous service at reasonable rates. What more could you want?Plus they're 2 blocks aways from a Muni stop.

Jason helped me in a super pinch when my Audi brake light went out. Given the traffic ticket violations in SF are increasing, I wanted to get this done and he was able to hook me up within 3 hours. That type of service really speaks volumes to the speed and service Advanced still provides - it's been 4 years since I last stopped in. You just won a customer Jason! Thanks again.

Auto repair is nerve wracking because it involves special knowledge, trust, and money. When you drop off your car at a shop you never know at first what you're getting into. That's why when you find a place you like and trust it takes the edge off an otherwise uncomfortable and expensive interaction. Advanced Autowerks does that for me. When my car breaks at least I know where to go and get a chance to visit with Randy, Brett, and Jason - cool guys. My car seems to fail in mysterious ways but they always figure it out and lay out the repair options in a rational way. This shop is also serious about doing their work in as green a way as possible. They manage their chemical waste by the book and recycle aggressively. Having a good car shop is a blessing, one less thing to worry about. Advanced Autowerks works for me.

Honestly, I feel that Yelp is evil, but if it helps anyone with a Germanic horse-team find Randy & co, it is worth it. They have done work of the highest quality on two different and fussy Audis of mine. Their rates are consistently 25-50% below other good Audi shops, and they are as straight as they are competent; I think they have told me as much NOT to do to my cars as I have paid them to. In 35 years of driving 10 cars, they're the best combination of value and skill I have run across.
