Five stars for integrity and just all around awesomeness. My car wouldn't start one day and so I had it towed here. They couldn't find anything wrong with the fuel pump and recommended that I hold off on replacing it as it's a very expensive piece of machinery (wow! have you ever heard of a mechanic telling you not to get work done?!) They also charged me NOTHING for all of the diagnostic work . You better believe I'm taking it back to this shop for my service. Love these guys!

Ok, I have never been inspired to yelp about anything, but Advanced Autowerks might just be the best service provider/business that I have ever had the good fortune to come across and I feel compelled to shout it from the mountaintops. I have been taking my A4 here for 6 years. In that time they have done many major and minor repairs for me speedily and super well and at a fair price (waaaay better than Royal Motorson every front). They are always friendly, seem to know that bringing one's car in is like going to the dentist--necessary and mildly unpleasant--and go out of their way to make it worry- and hassle-free. As other yelpers can attest, they are exceptionally honest and go over all charges and always offer to show me broken parts or explain in layman's terms what my car needs. And, get this, my last 3 visits there for replacement taillights and a broken something or other on the front of the car, they charged me NOTHING, because it only took them 15 minutes and they said were happy to help. How unusual and inspiring, right? Seriously, if you have a German car do not waste your time with any other mechanic. These are the guys. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Am pretty good doing my own auto repair, have restored old cars, am a track driver, have been around the block (pushing 50) etc.So after being galled by the services Royal tried to sell me, along with the prices they tried to charge, I went looking for an alternative.Advanced was barely getting going the first time I used them, many years ago. They had this death-trap VW van that they picked you up in, which sort of charmed me!I didn't need any repair by real experts again until last year. My cooling system blew out, and I needed help. So I took my little red TT to AA, and held my breath on the price. Instead of the "Royal Treatment" (where I expect to get overcharged), the price came in a good 40% less than I expected. What a relief!And given that I know a bit about cars, I can say that these guys gave me all the confidence in the world that:a. They know what they're doing, can be trusted with our carsb. Understand that doing a good job for a good price is the best way to make money because...c. Then we keep coming back, tell our friends, write nice Yelp reviews, etc.So AA will remain our go-to guys for the foreseeable future for everything Audi, and any other marque they add to the mix.

5+ years later, I still love these guys. Accurate quotes and fair pricing for VW repair/maintenance. My 2000 Passat Wagon broke down over a holiday weekend. After a 2 day ordeal, I managed to get the car towed back from Oakland on a Sunday morning.The tow truck dropped me and my car at Advanced only to find Jason and a few mechanics at the shop working on their own fix-it projects. Boy, was that a friendly sight. Even though they weren't open til Tuesday, the guys took the time to chat with me about the car trouble and helped me drop off the car/key. First thing Tuesday morning, Zach called me with the low down and $ options for my car. All fixed and done in 36 hrs. They even tossed in a few bulb replacements. Zach and the crew are the best!

If you're looking for people that know how to fix cars well and whom you can trust, then look no further. Since we have a 2001 VW Jetta, we've had to bring in our car quite a few times over the past year and we really appreciate the service and expertise of these guys. You get what you pay for and the quality of the service they provide is why I'm giving them 5 stars. Since we brought our car in for a major service a few months go, we've had two tail lights replaced by them free of charge. Zack told me to bring it in at that moment, and then they had me on my way in 1/2 an hour. Free of charge! How many auto service businesses do that for you? We're glad that we finally found a car service place that we can trust and who also has great service.

Coming from the south, I found the labor cost to be as shocking as new shag-carpet in a door-knob showroom. But the customer service was uncommon for California and suggested the operation deserved the phrase "Northern Hospitality". So effen you gotta take your volks to the shop in SF, take it to this one.

These guys are amazing, especially Jason. It's was the first for me when the mechanic actually took the time to show and teach me what was wrong with my car. The expectations were set early about how long it would take and also what I can expect the next time I come back. It's so nice to be spoken to by a mechanic that treats you like a person. Anyways, they paid for both cab rides to and from home. Everything is convenient and personalized.

These guys are Volkswagen whisperers. Seriously - no matter how odd the sound is, no matter how difficult it is to describe what's going on with your car, they will find the cause and fix it -- usually for way cheaper than you'd ever expect, too.I found out about Advanced Autowerks through word-of-mouth. A contractor who was at my house happened to mention that he got service there. Before going to them, I never thought I'd use words such as honesty, professionalism and integrity to describe an automotive service center. But these words describe everyone at Advanced Autowerks to a T.

I am sure that everyone reading reviews on Auto Repair shops is aware of the worst case scenarios in dealing with car repairs. It is hard to trust that you are getting an accurate and hosest assesment of your vehicles issues. In my recent experience with Advance Autowerks I was amazed at the level of strait forwardness and up front honesty I received. I had a pretty hefty repair bill on my Audi A4 and not only did they tell me what was wrong but they also steered me in the right direction as to what was the most urgent and what the felt could wait. In addition to that I explained that I might be in the market for a trade in or move to a different vehicle type as my son was getting older and we needed more space. Zach was quick to take time to give me his thoughts on what would work best for my situation.I am sure that he is not in the business of helping get people into new cars but the fact that he did not hesitate to give me his professional opinion, regardless of if it was a make and model Advanced Autowerks serviced which it was not, on the best options is a testament to the levels of customer service you will experience.In summary take you car here for repairs. I heard some unusual sound emanating from from right rear wheel of my Mini Cooper and went to Autowerks. Ive been there once before and I was pretty pleased with my experience. Jason patiently heard my complaint with rapt attention. After NAD (nothing abnormal detected) pronouncement he volunteered to test drive the car for settling the issue.Fifteen minutes later he was back back with previous diagnosis intact. "You have a mind set not rooted in reality". Automobile folks being metaphysical in their analysis is a rarity and hilarity.Further mention of rear number plate bottom screws missing was attended to immediately. Casual mention of car body needing a shower/shampoo was countered with "Can you wait for fifteen minutes". We spent the time in inspecting the innards of Audies, Hondas, Minis, in different stages of Stripping and overhaul. Professionalism was the unwritten credo all over the place.Sooner than expected our scrubbed Mini materialized. On enquiring about the billing a very gentle rebuff was administered."please come back with real problems next time"We silently promised ourselves that we shall never go elsewhere.They really care about building relationships and ensuring safety for their customers.This is a new high in terms of service for me.
